HiTech
Upgrades' core business revolves around helping you achieve these goals quickly and
affordable.
We have multiple speaker wiring packages to meet your
needs for various budgets and desired features.
Overview
The best time to install speaker wire in a home or
business office is when it's under construction. The walls are open and it's a perfect
opportunity to hide in-wall speaker wire throughout your residence.
Adequate wire is routed to each room for potential
in-wall, in-ceiling, or traditional floor or wall mounted speakers. The wires are all
routed to a centralized home audio control center, such as your stereo cabinet or
dedicated media closet. A detailed look at the construction process is explained below.
Packages
Entry Level - speaker
wire is run to each desired room; volume and audio source controls are centralized at the
home's stereo rack
Enthusiast - speaker wire
is routed to a volume control wall switch within each listening area and then to each
in-wall or in-ceiling speaker
Professional - in
addition to being able to control audio volume remotely, additional control wire is routed
throughout the home to permit full control of audio source, changing radion stations, CDs,
etc from a wall plate in each using your stereo's remote control
Construction Process
Initial Meeting - While your
home is under construction or during the design process, a HiTech Upgrades representative
will meet with you to review your goals and desires for your connected home. A custom
whole-house audio and home theater plan will be developed and presented to you for review
and approval. It will outline the general locations of stereo A/V equipment, speakers, and
other elements of the high-tech process. You'll be expected to provide us with a copy of
your contractor's construction schedule, so that we can begin to schedule our involvement
in the project, timing, and coordination.
Pre-Wire - this is the most
important phase of HiTech Upgrades' involvement in your new home construction process.
Timing is critical: Immediately after the electricians are complete their rough-in and have
passed their electrical inspection and just before the insulation has been installed
is when HiTech Upgrades has the opportunity to our work. We'll spend 1-2 days in your home
running speaker wire to the various locations as agreed upon during our initial meeting. All
the wires will typically be terminated in one area or room of the home, where the main A/V
stereo system will be located.
Trim-Out - As construction
continues, the back boxes that contain the speaker wires are left exposed and taped over.
Once the painting is complete, HiTech Upgrades can return to trim-out the installation. Cover
plates are then installed over the exposed back boxes for a more finished look.
Speaker Installation - after
your home is granted occupancy, HiTech Upgrades can purchase and install speakers for your
residence. In-wall or in-ceiling speakers are typically installed; however some clients may
desire exposed speakers be wall mounted. The popularity of small cube speakers for home
theaters, such as Bose and Infinity, is quite common for HiTech Upgrades' clients. |
